Enjoying Mother Nature's Winter Wonderland

We're glad to be back after taking a short break!  We've packed Christmas away until next year, and shopped the after-Christmas clearance sales for floral stems, ribbon, party supplies, ornaments for wreaths, garlands and floral arrangements, candles, and Christmas tabletop decor.  We usually go with a list of things we'd like to add to our decor - and always find a few fun things to start a new theme for next year!  We always leave the new items wrapped and tuck them in with the other Christmas decor, so next year, when we open the packages it's a little gift to ourselves!

Mother Nature blessed us with several inches of snow over the holiday season which left us with beautiful scenery to enjoy!  It also gave us an opportunity to get outside and have some fun with snow creations -- we build the snowmen (and snow farm animals) in the backyard and on the patio, where we can enjoy their presence!

For you warm climate dwellers, if you are not blessed with snow, on the next trip to the beach, make a sand "snow"man!

Cookie Exchange Party!

We love invitations to Cookie Exchange parties!  Bake a triple batch of your favorite cookie, get together with friends and divide cookies into platters of assorted Christmas cookies, then share with friends and family!  For a fun presentation at your next cookie party, decorate a tabletop tree with the cookies!  Our Ornament Cookie Recipe: Easy Sugar Cookies from Southern Living cookbook, cut a hole in the middle of each cookie before baking and fill with crushed Lifesavers candy.  Use toothpick to poke a hole in the top of each cookie before baking, then after cooling, use an ornament hook to affix to tree.  This tree includes 48 ornament cookies.
